Mahat misses college life, enjoyed doing 'Backbench Student'
"Not every day one gets to revisit college, but I was lucky to shoot a good portion of my film in a college. I remember telling my director (Madhura Sreedhar) that I don't mind even taking up some short course because I thoroughly enjoyed the experience," Mahat said.
What does he misses the most about college life?
"I definitely miss all the fun and frolic with friends. In fact, the role I play is more or less a reflection of my college days," he said.
"Backbench Student" also features Pia Bajpai and Archana Kavi in the lead.
"The film revolves around the protagonist who despite being a failure in college, succeeds in life. This forms the rest of the story. We've attempted to harp on the importance of nurturing one's talent, in which people seldom believe in," he said.
The film, which was completed in 50 days, was predominantly shot in Vizag. M.V.K. Reddy has produced "Backbench Student", which is coming out March 15.
